The Life Within is a video work in which the artist utilizes medical images (X-rays, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic scans) accumulated by the family over decades, imbuing them with fluidity and a sense of temporality through animation.
The work extends an exploration of medical imaging by translating internally revealed structures from skeletal boundaries to the contours of organs into a visual narrative. As technology renders the invisible interior visible, these images come to document not only physiological conditions but also layered traces of family history and personal memory. In doing so, the work invites a re-examination of visual archives that exist at once as scientific records and intimate artefacts.
